The Henegar Center in Melbourne Florida is looking for talented and professional candidates that are passionate about the arts and have a love for theatre. We are hiring for several specific roles and always accepting resumes and portfolios to continually increase our talent pull of contracted designers.

Full & Part time Salaried and Hourly Roles: We are seeking the following roles. Below we have listed if the role is full time/part time/ contracted/or seasonal, with basic salary ranges and benefits. Additional details will be discussed for those with a scheduled in person interview
Full time Salaried Scenic builders
- Available start date after June 1st
- Salary range $42,000- $46,000
- Additional Benefits including paid time off (vacation /sick), Health Insurance contribution, eligible holiday bonus.
- Top level roles & responsibilities include; Experience construction of Theatrical sets. Use of basic power tools. Working with a range of materials including lauan, foam, lumber, and plaster. Scenic painting. Trim and accent details. Mounting and rigging fly rails and scenic drops. Ability to carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and use lift to heights over 10 feet. Order materials and maintain inventory. Assist with wiring electrical elements. Work under the Shop Foreman to achieve build completion by specific deadlines. Other duties as assigned and to be discussed further at interview.
Season Year Long Salaried Production Paid Internship
- Available start date after June 1st
- Salary range $32,000- $35,000
- Additional Benefits including paid time off (vacation /sick), Health Insurance contribution, eligible holiday bonus. Potential onsite housing and utilities included.
- Top level roles & responsibilities include; Directly supporting the Artistic and Associate Artistic Directors, Guest Directors and Contracted Creative Team. Rehearsal Manager to include set up and assistance of Auditions, Casting, Rehearsal Schedule, Social Media post creation, Creative meeting notes, staging notes, use of Microsoft office and Google sheets, Assist Director directly in logging and updating prop lists, furniture lists, sound and lighting notes, special orders for each production. Printing materials. Order and set up/strike of catering. Office administrative tasks. Supporting the entire Team to achieve a successful production delivered by deadlines.
- Ability to work nights and weekends for rehearsals and some show weekends.
Season Year Long Salaried Shop/Build/Tech Paid Internship
- Available start date after June 1st
- Salary range $32,000- $35,000
- Additional Benefits including paid time off (vacation /sick), Health Insurance contribution, eligible holiday bonus. Potential onsite housing and utilities included.
- Top level roles & responsibilities include; Experience construction of Theatrical sets. Use of basic power tools. Working with a range of materials including lauan, foam, lumber, and plaster. Work under the Shop Foreman to achieve build completion by specific deadlines. Other duties as assigned and discussed further at the interview.
Part Time Hourly Box Office & Front of House Associate
- Available start date after June 1st
- Hourly rate range $18- $20 an hour, approx. 20 hours per week
- Additional Benefits including paid time off (vacation /sick), eligible holiday bonus.
- Top level roles & responsibilities include; Coverage of the Box Office during business hours. Answering phones and manning the ticketing window. Superior Guest service. Processing ticket sales, renewals, Memberships, seat moves. Assist with inventory of front of house materials. Keeping the Front of House clean and organized. Printing programs. Receiving shipments and distributing to other areas of business. Assist with set up and strike of special events. Assist with Management of Front of House when the House Manager is absent. Coverage of Front of House duties for Feller student programs and Blackbox special events.
- While most Box office coverage falls during the week, during the day from 9:30-6:30, candidates must have some evening and weekend availability.

- Contract based on specific show needs varies from $550- $1,200 stipend
- Top level roles & responsibilities include; Directly supporting the Education Director, the Associate Artistic Director, and Guest Directors and Contracted Creative Team.
Must work well with children ranging from Kindergarten through High School. Rehearsal Manager to include set up and assistance of Auditions, Casting, Rehearsal Schedule, Social Media post creation, Creative meeting notes, staging notes, use of Microsoft office and Google sheets, Assist Director directly in logging and updating prop lists, furniture lists, sound and lighting notes, special orders for each production. Pulling or purchasing costumes for all students. Printing materials. Order and set up/strike. Office administrative tasks. Supporting the entire Team to achieve a successful production delivered by deadlines. Sewing and alterations are a plus. Must be organized and have a flexible schedule to accommodate varied production and rehearsal hours.
